Need help to identify this

Hi, anyone able to identify what eggs or larvae are these? They kinda kill and create a yellow patch on the moss they're sitting on. Thank you!

We think this is a fungus, and would suggest using a fungicide there. It might be an idea to remove the dead foliage and take away more of the planting edge on the surrounding area.
Looking closer, I think this is spreading up through the greenery. Sooner better than later for the fungicide, and drench the whole area.
