Maidenhair Fern - Cannot Find The Right Nook For It!

My husband bought me a maidenhair fern which I adore ... as I had them in Sydney Australia, I thought they would be easy to maintain in Florida. As they are indoors or very protected outdoors, I started with indoors but I think the air conditioning disagrees with it. I tried to make sure it was protected from draft and also placed it under a grow tube light for some help.

Now it is outdoors in shade but impossible to keep out of heavy wind from time to time and still looks sick.

I really want it to be indoors and am wondering if there are any other nurturing suggestions?

Many Thanks!

In the wild they tend to grow in damp shady places, seen em growing half way down wells.

Misting with a rainwater spray might help, I wouldn't use tapwater as they'll probably be sensitve to it :)
