I had found that in order to plant dill, you only need about 1 foot in diameter. This is perfect for the area I was going to start planting herbs in. Is it true that you only need about 1 ft in order to successfully grow the dill? Has anyone ever had dill grow more than that? I would hate to start growing it and have it run out of room.

If you could tell us the type of dill you are planting (fernleaf, mammoth, ?) it would help. We have dill that comes up on its own all over the garden. I spend more time pulling dill than pulling weeds!
In my experience, fernleaf dill takes less space, the umbelliferous type takes more, but if you have two dill plants in a square foot, they should be happy and grow for you.
