I am excited this year. I plan to buy a couple of rose bushes. I had started a couple but my goats ate them. I found that my goats were too much to handle and gave them to our 4-H advisor so now I am free to get roses. I miss my goats but not the hassle!

It is still too cold here to get them. I was at the nursery yesterday and they do not even have them yet. I am gonna get them though! I think I may put one by my mailbox too!

I think I will go heavily prune my knockouts. They get so tall so fast. And we will not have frost until late November so they can harden off. The neighbor has a horse that gets them when they grow taller than the fence.

Well the horses have been moved to the greener pastures of relatives as my elderly neighbor is in his 90s and horse care becomes hard and a bit dangerous for the frail. This means a good deal to the knockouts that have begun to bloom now.

So knock out brand roses are good,
Often the only choice locally here. I have one thats going on 15 years old but the others over the years dont go much more than 5 years.
Planted a Yellow KO last fall and its just leafing out now. My 15 year old plant is no show winner but looking good so far

Im pretty sure this dwarf rose is a KO
Every time I think its dead ( several times over the past 5 years) its close to 10 yrs) it pokes it head out again. 2 years ago it had a major bloom and nothing last year.
