Identification please!

Photographed this clover-looking plant growing in a pond in northwest Connecticut a few days ago. Can anyone identify it?

Thanks, Silver surfer! When I researched marsilea villosa, I found it's native to Hawaii; but it certainly wouldn't survive here in New England. "Marsiea" however gave me something to work on; and I've pretty much determined that what I saw was marsilea quadrifolia - which as it turns out, is present in New England and is considered an invasive plant. Thanks again for your help! I was at a loss until you gave me "marsilea".
