Hi
Could anyone advise if it is possible to plant Hostas in large planters with summer bedding including Cosmos, Bacopa etc for a summer display. Will the Hostas cope ok?

Hello Joe. It mostly depends on the growing environment but yes it will work if put in a partial shade to full shade with well-drained fertile soil. Hostas prefer locations with morning Sun and not in the hot Sun. They grow well with a lot of compost and organic matter in the potting or bedding mix. Keep us posted.

depends on the type you pick. at the end of the year it will probably want to be divided. I only do in ground.

I grew several varieties in 16” pots for a couple of years and they did great. I used regular potting soil and an all-purpose plant food.
As long as the other plants don’t crowd out the Hostas, you‘ll be good to go.
