Hello,

holes on my apple tree appeared.

Last year there were aphids or lice, but couldn't find any this year.

Noticed lots of ants on the tree, not sure which kind.

Any ideas what could cause this ?

Thanks

Welcome to the forums Daca. I think that looks like shot hole fungus, and if it was on my apple tree I would leave it alone. The tree will probably sort itself out. I wouldn't want to start spraying with fungicide, especially as it may not have any effect anyhow.
If you see lots of ants, they will be looking for aphids. For a severe attack of aphids, you just need to spray them with water and washing up liquid.
Spraying chemicals on food crops might not be a good plan.
