Help! My Hibiscus will not bloom. I had one last year that bloomed constantly, and this year I'm getting nothing. It doesn't even have any buds on it. What can I do to get it to bloom?
I currently have it on my patio. It gets plenty of sun - starting late morning. Our weather has been a little crazy lately and I wonder if that's making a difference? We haven't had cold weather, but its been dropping into the 50's the past few nights.
Have you been pruning it? If you are stop because when you do it will take two or three months for it to start making blooms in the spot that you pruned. The cooler nights can have an affect on the blooming as can not getting enough sun - the more sun that it gets the better. Make sure you fertilize because plants need the extra nutrients in order to bloom.
I haven't pruned it, but I have noticed a few leaves here and there turning yellow and falling off. I will try bringing it in at night when it's cool and see if that makes a difference. Thanks for your replies!
