Help Identify this Winter Squash

So my son and I though it would be fun to try and grow some winter squash on or deck. We bought a bag of mixed seeds, planted five and kept the strongest. Any idea what type we ended up with? We're leaning toward Buttercup Squash.

Could be and probably is.

Would be immensely helpful to know where in the US you are however. July in North Dakota is nothing like July in Hawaii. This is a really diverse country.

Hi Beth, I am in Zone 6a (Rhode Island). Here is a newer pic. I few days makes a big difference .

I'm going with either buttercup or kabocha squash. It looks very healthy!
