Hi all!
I have created a watering system using ‘Olla’s’ (ancient clay pot system) as per picture.
Basically the water sits in the clay-pots underground and leeches out into the soil as needed.
The issue I have is with re-filling the pots. I have a tank that feeds Water lines into the pots which is fine except I have to lift the stoppers off the pots to refill as I guess there is an airlock with the stoppers on so the water won’t feed into them.
What I’d like is to just be able to turn the tap on at the tank and the pots get automatically refilled without having to take the stoppers out. The paradox is that if I don’t ‘seal’ the intake line to the pots then water will just keep running out of them until the tank empties.
Am I missing something or do I have to keep going with a semi-manual method?
