I’m trying to resurrect my grandmothers rose garden that has been neglected for a few years. The large garden are has a lot of grass growing in it and many of the rose bushes have grass growing inside the bush itself. The bushes all seem healthy but I have no idea how to get that grass out without digging up the rose. Any ideas???

Welcome cpetes07. :)

If you pull gently a lot of the grass will come out with it's roots attached. If you're not averse to using chemicals, there are systemic weedkillers available that you can paint on with a brush. This will kill the roots as well as the top growth. After painting I would cover the grass with a container or bag until it's dead, so that it doesn't come into contact with the roses. Or wrap the base of the roses to protect them.
