Fruit trees by the river

Would it be a good spot to plant fruit trees by the river in Wyoming or should I plant them in another spot away from the river? Just wondering if they would thrive by the river like other trees.

Bottom land is usually the best just as long as it doesn't flood and wash the trees away.
