Gosh Jethro Tull.......that takes me back!:)

As a young man, I was obsessed with the music of Jethro Tull. Now, in my late 50's my preference is along the lines of this, absolute stellar performance from Etta James:

I guess she's most well known for "At Last."

But I've got this in one of my Jukeboxes, its one of my favourites.

I've got 3 albums of a band called Fox. Remember s-s-s bed?.
Sweet
Alice cooper schools out. I bought that because I just left school.

Simon and Garfunkel, bridge over troubled water album. I borrowed that from my elder brother's girlfriend and took it to school, went to a music lesson asked if we could play it. The teacher asked if we knew what it was about, we didn't know so he wouldn't let us play it. Think it was political.

Ken Dodd the river and tears for souvenirs.

Can't recall Fox :(

I have also got ' Schools Out ' and ' Bridge Over Troubled Water ' too:)(y),
Didn't strike me as being political.........but then I wouldn't have recognised it being so as I'm not politically minded, then or now :D

This is Bea Wain.

She was a big band singer before WW2.

A Hoagy Carmichael "standard."

Lot's more on YouTube.

I accepted that the style is dated, but I still like it.

Perfect pitch and can hold, "long tones."

She only died last year at the age of 100.

She was still singing at 66 and would have put a lot of well known singers of that age now, to shame.
