Last year, I propagated several crepe myrtles from the cuttings.
Now it is time to put them in the ground.
My question is how do I prune it, so it can start to have more trunks from the root?
Don't do anything except be patient. They will start to send up shoots from the roots as the little tree grows a little more. The problem you will have is determining which shoots to keep.
They grow from the bark so once they come up, a flush cut to the ground would produce a stump that grew back around its perimeter for example. It would be more of a bush. You have seen the crepe murder prunings that grow back from the cuts. It is not my favorite form. There are different sizes available if that height is the problem.
