We have a Clementine tree that we got in the spring. It was outdoors in a planter, and it did very well - lots of new growth.

We moved it indoors for the winter a few weeks ago, and it's been dropping leaves everyday since then. The leaves are bright green, and don't show any insect damage (we've also examined the tree with a magnifying glass!).

The soil is moist - not too wet or too dry (it's Miracle-Grow soil, the same as it's been since we got the plant in March).

There is no new growth (there was when we first moved it indoors, but that stopped soon after).

Some (not all) of the dropped leaves have a little brown spot (see picture).

Any advice sure would be welcome!

Thanks,

Alan

Welcome to the forum Alan. :)

The only thing I can suggest is it doesn't like the heat indoors. Do you have a room or perhaps a closed in porch that is cooler for it?

MORE LIGHT!!!!
It needs to be as close to a South or West facing window with no curtains or blinds as you can put it. If you can stand next to the plant with your back to the window and read a magazine without sunglasses, it’s too dark. Citrus want to be in full sun all day long, so try to duplicate that indoors as best you can. Extra grow lights will help.
For now, expect more leaf drop even to the point of no leaves left on the plant. Keep it just barely moist, no fertilizer, cool-ish, and as bright as possible.
