Chestnut Graft

Hello. The pic shows 2 rind grafts on a 3 inch trunk chestnut. The one on the right has healthy nice big green leaves. The one on the left has its leaves nearly all dried out. I am thinking about removing the left graft. Should I? How? pulled and pinched off? or pruned out? And when, now or in November? Thanks

I would just leave it until next spring. Grafts can fool you some times. If it still looks dead next spring then I would cut it off just above the graft point.
