I'm new to gardening, I had created my first vegetable garden this year and just noticed white fuzzy looking balls? It almost looks like a white hedge hog. Any clues?

That looks like an organism called puffball fungus. It is just another form of mushroom or toad stool and is harmless.

Chuck is right, one of the puffball family, most are edible but I can't confirm your one as it's not in my UK books :)
