I moved my basil with my tomatoes because the basil container's drainage holes were clogged with soil. I also heard that basil and tomatoes were companion plants.

One problem though. The tomato's container has VERY rich soil. I heard basil often grows in poor soil. Will they not survive?

My basil grows best in VERY rich soil. Basil will grow just about anywhere, poor soil or not.
