I had this crazy idea of planting bamboo in a pot. I googled "bamboo in pot" they look beautiful. So, has anyone tried it. I don't know really where to get some. I am not referring to indoor lucky bamboo.

Will it start to grow from any node cutting or does it only grow from main shoot.

Will it root if I just immerse the stick with node in rooting solution?

Bamboo (Bambusoideae, Poaceae) can be rooted from stem cuttings, but it is not the easiest method of propagation for these woody grasses. A full arsenal of rooting hormone, misting bench, and bottom heat is recommended here.
I personally have rooted Himalayan Blue Bamboo (Himalayacalamus hookerianus) in this manner, mostly as an experiment.

However, the usual method for vegetatively propagating bamboo is by rhizome division. For rapid and assured results it is the best way.
