Quick question about my Broccoli and Cauliflower plants:

I started them indoors in Pete-pots about 5 weeks ago. I'm starting to harden them off before putting the in the ground probably next weekend.

Problem is they're getting tall, almost 2 inches, but the stems are weak and can't hold the plant up. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong, if anything.

Please advise. TY

That is pretty normal as the starts approach time to plant out. A picture would help.

If they are leggy, then they are probably not getting sufficient light and you would need to address that.

They are leggy. They were in the basement under grow lights 24-7, but I'm now taking them outside during the day, trying to prep them to go into the ground.

I might be better off just planting them at this point, and covering them to keep the frost off.

Let them have some dark time and see if you can move the lights closer. Sounds easier than trying to cover them.

Note, once established, they can tolerate a light frost. When is your last frost?

I dream of growing broccoli but I won't have the space for it unfortunately. I'm currently reading about various vitamins and supplements on Canadian Pharmacy Partner that could improve my well-being. But I'm sure that homegrown vegetables would have a better effect. Maybe eventually I'll move into a house and have a lot of space for gardening
