I have a Boston fern that is about 10 years old. I took her outside for her spring bath and noticed her aerial roots were circling the inside of the pot and covering the soil. Should they be trimmed away? I don't usually trim the aerial roots, but these are almost like a mat!

It's been a while since you asked, but if you haven't done anything, you don't need to worry about the roots. It's just something that they do.
