That is completely normal. I am unsure as to why this happens. Some varieties do it while others don't. IME jalapenos do it more than any other variety. Sometimes the fruit will blacken too, well before turning into its final red color. I am prone to think it is something genetic.

I agree with Chuck its normal unless the plant is wilting too. If your pepper plant has black spots and wilting then it could be a fungus. It looks like your soil is too wet in the photo. Let the top couple inches dry out well before watering.

Just a question. Why are most of the limbs cut off of the plant?
They had fungal diseases on the leaves. I cut them myself to give it a clean start. I sprayed a copper fungicide to prevent further spread.

Just curious. What did the disease look like?
I don’t fully remember, and I didn’t take a picture.

It had brown/yellow markings on them. I didn’t know if it was 100% fungus, but I didn’t want to take a chance.

Was it little brown dots with a yellow halo around it? If so you are lucky as that type of disease is usually fatal.

I don’t remember. I don’t think so.

My new eggplants have 1-2 whiteflies and 1-3 aphids.

What would you do in my case? I haven’t done anything. The only spray I applied was a copper fungicide.

About the best thing for them is insecticidal soap, Next best is a Spinosad product. I would not use the copper as a preventative. Proper growing techniques will usually stop any need for it.
