so i grew basil starting in june...great plants...no problem

eventually the leaves started turning brown but got substantial production

so i figured i would start new plants in august

they start out great but soon as seedlings, the leaves are turning brown...new leaves pop up but soon same thing

im hearing these are easy to grow year round indoors...btw i'm in ct

so why do they grow great in june but august seems a nono...this has happened before and im without answers

im hearing iron deficiency ...not enough acidity....last on grown with mix of potting soil and black cow manure

Different climatic conditions can mean water evaporates more or less rapidly, but that shouldn't really be a problem, I have read about people having problems with contaminated manure, some herbicides used on grass go straight through the animal unaltered, did you use manure from the same bag or new ?

Basil is a summer herb and loves the heat. If you're in CT (Connecticut?) the winter hothousing might be too cold without a heat mat.

lol the kow, its mucky. They drown easy. Increase drainage to ludicrous speed. Then turbo charge it.
