Artemisia Powis Castle / spring pruning

hello from Whidbey Island WA ......as my 1st going on 2nd year gigantic Artemisia Powis Castle heads into it's first full spring & summer, I've cut it back hard, as these pics will attest ....wondering if it should be / could stand to be cut back harder & further ? .....
