I have had an Amaryllis bulb for many years. I had forgotten about because I had placed the pot on the other side of the house.
I finally took it out and had it under my cedar tress on the front. It grew lots of leaves but no blooms . I had read a little about how to make them bloom. I cut all the leaves just to under the soil line and brought under my covered porch.
In about two weeks it started growing and about two weeks later a couple of bloom stalks started growing. One had bloomed beautifully and the other is on the way. Attached is pic. It is mid March now here in North Miami, Fl. should I cut it down to the bulb after blooms are done or?? Should I put it in the ground?

Thanks. You are in California?
Summer here is brutal. Long summer and temps in high summer 95 , 97 everyday. That’s why I am a little apprehensive about putting it in full sun. The sun is really strong here in summer,

Try 105-115. Granted the humidity is down around 15-20%, but 100+ is 100+.🥵
Yes, that’s hot. 100 is 100.
But it’s a dry heat. lol. That’s what people say.
Humidity here in summer 90 to 100 percent.
It’s disgusting, and don’t get me started on the mosquitos.
Thank you for your feedback.
I have to find a place in the garden where it doesn’t get the hottest part of the sun in summer.

In the Summer around 3:00 pm or so, right after we hit 95 degrees we get the Thunderstorms for about an hour and they are heavy with Thunder and lightning and heavy rain. Toad stranglers they say. Then the sun comes out and it is stifling! Then the mosquitoes.
After watering the plants in the morning I need another shower and getting in the car in the afternoon you have to be careful not to burn your hands on the steering wheel. I’m sure it’s the same there.
Now it is beautiful. 57 degrees this morning with low humidity but I know what’s coming soon.
