The cable car in Batumi is called "Argo".
The upper station is located on Mount Feria, where an excellent viewing platform is equipped.

The ancient fortresses, which are many in Adjara, are also worthy of visiting tourists.
This is the fortress of Gonio.
The history of the fortress begins in the 1st century AD.

In the II century the territory belonged to one of the Roman cities of Colchis. A little later, it passed to Byzantium.

Previously, the fortress of Gonio was an important place for the entire Roman Empire. It not only protected the entrances to the gorge of rivers, but also was the center of the Eastern part of Rome.

Interesting. To bad it is filled with full size cars.

Yes, this is not compliance with traffic rules. The only communication of drivers on the road is a sound signal. :D

The history of modern Batumi is only 150 years old. Usually southern cities have always built with narrow streets to have protection from the sun. Probably, in the old days it was enough for carts with horses.:)

Arched bridges are ancient road structures in the form of high arches, examples of Georgian engineering art, preserved in a relatively good condition to the present day. They were built in the XI-XIII centuries for crossing the rivers Kintrishi and Chorokhi. The most famous are the bridge of Queen Tamar in Mahuntseti. Of course, this place attracts many tourists.

Water is one of the main riches of Georgia. Waterfalls, streams, clean rivers with trout.
Medical resorts with mineral water, thermal springs, underground rivers in caves ...

Pure natural water is supplied to residential buildings. There are also many places on the street where you can safely drink water.

The wine in Georgia flows like a river. Because they drink wine always and everywhere. They pour wine even to children. A bit, to maintain and nurture the national culture.

15 GEL (6 dollars) is worth a visit to the winery. For this money you will be told all about different grades of wine, you can also taste any wine without restrictions. Georgians will treat you to delicious grapes. And you can buy wine that you liked. :)

A strange tank next to the cafe. I think it's related to alcohol. :D

I nearly missed this lovely thread. Thanks to @Upsy Daisy for showing me the link! I think I would love to visit a magical place like this, @Larisa ! Such an eye-opener!

Love the architecture, waterfall, vaulted ceilings and all those. Would love to go there myself.

Thank you, girls, today I will tell you a little more. :D

We came to a Georgian village to visit a Georgian family.
The roads there are very narrow and steep as serpentine. People are engaged in breeding animals and just farming.
Everywhere on the roads cows with chips in their ears go. I also saw pigs, rams, chickens and others. Sometimes animals go out onto the road, then the traffic stops. Everybody is waiting for them to leave. :D

Georgians grow a lot of vegetables and fruits, make cheese, cottage cheese, wine, honey. You will not see beautiful gardens with flowers there, although the beautiful climate gives many opportunities for this. I think they just do not have the time for this.

Georgians very well meet the guests. Georgian hospitality knows no bounds. This you can see everywhere. Portions of food in the cafe are huge! I was on a trip with my son, who is 15 years old. When we saw the mountains of food on a plate, we began to take one serving for two. Everything is very delicious! But a lot. And inexpensive.

This is one serving of khinkali. And one serving of fruit.
