Hi, I planted two young pear trees last spring and they seemed to do fine. This spring they even bloomed, but I noticed yesterday that the leafs are turning brown. Does anyone know what might be the problem? Thanks in advance
The reddish new leaves are normal. The ones with chunks taken out have been chewed by some kind of insect but not severely enough to do anything about. The ones with ‘burnt’ edges might have been from weather- hot and dry - or possibly a nutrient deficiency. If it hasn’t gotten worse you don’t need to do anything.
