I watered my Bromeliad on Monday and today I've discovered a few brown worms in the water that is left in the center. Should i be worried? I took it outside and dumped it because the water was nasty looking anyways but I don't know if I should do anything else?

This is " tipulid sp a", larvae of flies tipulid family. I could be wrong, but the water inside Bromiley - an ecosystem. Insects are also part of the ecosystem. It is necessary that the plant can absorb nitrogen.

They make great plant food, you will find all kinds of things living in your brom, I get them every year when I put my broms out for the summer and then wash the out when I bring them in for the winter.
