I have two Tuscan cypresses (Cupressus Sempervirens).
One of them started to become floppy and droop its branches:

Meanwhile the other one is ok:

Why ?
What can I do to straighten it ?

Tuscan Cypress/Italian Cypress do this when they get too much water and/or too much wind. All you can do is tie up the limbs to the main trunk. It will probably be OK in time but you must tie it up ASAP. It will not cure itself

Thanks, I'll do this.
What's odd is that only one experienced this. The other (4 meters apart) looks ok.

Well, you must remember that those two tree are NOT exactly the same genetically and you don't know exactly how the water drains or moves underground either. Just be thankful that only one is experiencing this and be careful on the tall ladder.

It looks dry/dead inside, not sure if ok.

I would cut it to shape like the rest of the tree. Cypresses are some the few conifers that will sprout from leafless branches if those branches are alive. The browning is from being shaded by new growth on the outside and not an indication of disease.

Thanks.
You know that I've considered about cutting off the branch with the problem, but upon closer inspection, I noticed that it's huge. If I were to cut it, it would leave a nasty and unsightly gaping hole - the whole tree would be aesthetically compromised.

Found an advice here:
I don't know how good it is I think is better to try repairing than to remove.
PS: The lady seems very competent. :geek:

I've seen many instances of new growth from brown branches and even large trunks. There will be a bare area for awhile, but they will grow.
