What can i plant

What tree or bush can I plant to absorb standing water on my lawn in one area. It must like direct sunlight and not be poisenous to dogs please

Willow springs to mind. You might be better off with drainage and a soak-away though.

As Oliver has said Willow comes to mind but unless you have a good sized garden I wouldn't recommend it. They spread their roots over a good distance and are known to damage house foundations and water mains etc.

Another option is to solve the problem with the standing water as Oliver mentioned.
