Definitely! They wilt and you want to cry. Go for gaura, cistus. I will send you some Stipa gigantea seeds. But to tell you the truth, I don't mind if they will germinate. I will check for life and send you some. I bought 2 plants, but only one has seed pods. I have collected some from Hyde Hall! Son was very nervous. I told him that they would just fell onto the ground. Any way, they are gorgeous, but I can't guarantee they will germinate. My experiment with my own batch has not shown any life. Any way, sorry to drag you into long conversation. Need to get some beauty sleep now, Not that it will help! Hehe! But I am always happy ..

Even we have to drive 45 minutes to go there. We go there often. But the plant sales this year has been a let down, even the displays were a bit disappointing. Love it there as it has a panoramic view and there are now so many new buildings. Not keen on the rockeries or boring dry planting though. But by the look of it, I need to take a lot of ideas from them.

You're a lady of extremes. Drought and heat to rain and cold! :D

I wonder if they're making adjustments with plants to suit the (supposedly) dryer climate we're having.

We're still in drought here four months on. We've had the equivalent of about nine days light rain but not enough to give the ground a good soaking.

They have already geared toward planting drought-resistant plants, even before this long stretch of drought. Lots of Verbascums, lilies, rockroses, agapanthus and lots of small pebbles to suppress evaporation. Some of the areas are now home to Australiian plants - bottlebrush trees and quite a few bananas,

As you know, I'm very interested in architecture, not with any specialist eyes, but mainly aesthetics. Would like to share this article with you

Holloway University - don't be fooled by the fantastic facade, some of the university areas were quite run down! But at one point, I so wanted my son to study there!

It was en route to the Open Day that I missed a turn and after that son banned me from driving! LOL!

Every year, there is the Open Day for people to have free access to these wonderful building. We went to Lloyds of London

But I really want to go to Gherkin

But it was always fully booked. Now that I can walk very well, don't think we would go this year. If you are interested and live in the UK. Visit this link please.

We've here as well

Beautiful pics @alp (y)

So very true of R. Holloway Uni......my younger sis gained her first degree there.

Yes, when we went to the Music Department, there was a dodgy roof somewhere and the air hardly stirred. The library stank of old age and some windows in the most awkward of places. When I was in uni, our residential hall oozed water every April!. Quite disgusting, but the air didn't smell so bad as that in Holloway!
