When should I harvest seeds? I'm in the Pacific North West. The seed stems are dried out. I don't want the squirrels to eat them before I get mine! I've got 1000 feet of hedge to plant.

If the seeds are dry and shake out easily, collect them and plant immediately. They don't keep well. Alternatively watch out for self sown seedlings to pot up. Good luck, and welcome to the forums 
I picked the seeds off the trees while they are still green, otherwise, the squirrels will eat them all. I have them in an open paper bag. Thanks for the reply.
