I come from an area where quarrying is one of the economic activities. I have observed that plants grown in derelict or abandoned quarries thrive as a result of the degradation of quarry chips. Rocks are made up of minerals . I suppose that their dust can complement farmyard manure which would be a good combination for organic gardening as a good soil conditioner which would be least affected by leaching during the rainy season.

I would want to know what was being quarried first, but if all was well, it could prove an excellent source of nutrients and minerals when ground.
