Trying to save my rhododendron

It seems like my rhododendron has been slowly dying since mid-summer. A lot of the leaves have been turning yellow, while others have been shriveling up. I’ve tried everything I could think of or that has been suggested to me. I’ve used rhododendron fertilizer, I have used iron spray, I have tried lowering the acidity of the soil. I don’t overwater this plant.

I really would love to save this plant but I have no idea what to do. Any suggestions would be welcome.

It looks like only part of the plant is affected. Start at the top, following the wilting branch down and see if there is damage where it meets healthy tissue. There may be a stem canker at that point which is best treated by removing the dieing portion about 6" below the bottom limit.

It might be that it was short of water at some time. To survive, sometimes plants shut down parts of themselves.
