Transplanting a Cherry tree

This tree was planted about 15 mos. ago, I would like to move it in the fall. What can I do between now and then to make it servive.

What's your question, exactly? Assuming it's a healthy tree (and it looks like it is) you don't need to do anything between now and fall/transplanting time.
A tree that size, I'd hire a tree service to move it, personally.

I read that I should Root Prune it before I move it. I have been doing that but should I cut 6 to 8" off each branch after all of the leaves are gone?
