The Only Thing I Can Think To Do

Have Tomato Plants in 5 gallon buckets.

The ones I used Happy Frog soil in have created a root mass at the top not letting water go down very easy.

So before watering I've been taking a stick and pushing it down in the buckets 3X to let water in.

Sunshine 4 don't have this.

Then Sunshine 4 doesn't promote root growth very well. Do you water the plants very slowly and give it time to soak in or do you just water at full speed? I wonder how many roots you have killed or damaged by jabbing them with a stick?

I water water another come back water again. So yes I'm waiting.

I'm mixing fertilizer in the Sunshine 4 and plants are doing well.

As I posted on another thread, a short piece of 3-inch pipe sunk a couple of inches into your compost then water through that.
