Through ham radio I had the good fortune to become friends with Amoy Waite. We all called him Bud. I got to spend many hours with Bud at his house which was pretty much a museum of his life.

Bud had a great sense of humor. Once after giving a talk on the variety of ships he took to the pole he said, “I can tell you anything I want because everyone that was there is dead”.
