Legend has is that the original tree grew from the staff of Joseph of Amirathea (Jesus's uncle)

It flowers months before all the local Hawthorn bushes.

It makes me so happy to see these flowers! I miss spring very much!:cry:
I'm wondering how is it possible that this tree flowers so early. It's mysterious:)

Apparently its because its an early variety from the Holy Land :eek:

I love the hawthorn; We get loads of it round here. Thanks for sharing the picture and the legend.
