Thanks for identifying these flowers, Marck! What a wonderfully floriferous stroll you had.
The first flower is Crimson Flag Lily (Hesperantha coccinea, formerly known as Schizostylis coccinea). It is also known as River Lily, though it is actually in the Iris Family (Iridaceae), and is native to southern Africa. Cultivars are available with, white, red, or pink flowers.
The second flower is a well-known white-flowered cultivar of Japanese Anemone (Eriocapitella x hybrida 'Honorine Jobert).
... and the third flower is a cheery pink Zinnia (probably Zinnia elegans or a hybrid).
I don't know enough about zinnias to know! I'd love to hear the answer though! Is the Zinnia a double petaled one?
The Zinnia is what would be called a semi-double. The flower head has more ray flowers than the wild species, but not so many that the central disc is obscured.I don't know enough about zinnias to know! I'd love to hear the answer though!
