So I’ll be transplanting my melon seedlings in a couple weeks, and I was getting ready to set them outside today and noticed that are a few are wilting (which I hadn’t noticed just a day or two ago). Why could it be? Are they not getting enough water? Also the one leaf has some whitish spots on it?
One theory I have for the wilting is that maybe it’s because some of the plants are so tall, they can’t support the leaves very well? They had stretched at one point, but I didn’t have any bigger pots to put them in besides what they’re already in.
I’m panicking because the melons are the one plant I want most to succeed in the garden this year.

Cold shock can cause wilting. Also lack of water. And too much heat.

Another cause that I discovered is too much heat at night for beans!! I'd been putting my French and Runner beans out during the day (temps were fine during the day) and bringing them in at night. They didn't look happy. I couldn't work out why. Then I read that beans don't like temps higher than 15 C at night.....indoors they're getting 20c at night!! I started putting them in a cold greenhouse at night instead of brining them indoors and that did the trick.

Another issue I've had in the past is due to watering from above. I've found that my seedlings do better if I put them in a tray of water to 'wick' the water up.
