I found 2 clumps of what I thought were unripened muscadines, but I tasted one or two and they're sweeter with less seeds than the muscadines. I've never seen scuppernongs but I'm wondering if these could be them. Could they grow in among muscadines? My vines are 15 or more feet long and produced lots of deep purple fruit. They're kind of a light mustard brownish color.

Yes. All scuppernongs are muscadines, but not all muscadines are scuppernongs. Time to pick them before the birds get 'em.
