Pumpkin looking poorly - can anyone help?

Hi all, please can anyone help as to why my pumpkin is looking so poorly?

I would think it's most likely that it's lacking in soil depth for the root system and therefore lack of nutrients. Pumpkins have deep root systems and need to be in very deep containers or planted directly in the ground.
