I have a huge 'regular' Buddleia in my front garden. It seeded from a smaller one given to me in a pot. My garden is 2m x 5m in area (very small) and the Bud is 4.5m tall. The flowers are at my bedroom window level. o_O
It is a beautiful plant and is of course very good for the bees. but it's low branches are hanging over and intruding my neighbours own equally small garden.
CAN I CUT OFF THOSE INTRUDING BRANCHES IN SUMMER WITHOUT DAMAGING THE TREE?

The tree won't like it but if the tree is growing into the neighbor's yard and you have no choice. It's best to prune Buddleia in the dead of Winter but if you can't wait until then, only take a few branches. Make sure the plant is watered well before pruning and only take a few bottom branches at a time not to stress the plant out. Don't romove a 1/3 or more because it can stress the plant during the growing season.
