The evolution of a small garden pond from an old Tractor tyre.

A few everyday tools

Top of tyre wall needed to be removed pt1 - drilling a hole for the jigsaw

Top of tyre wall needed to be removed pt2 - Using the jigsaw to trim away one side of the tyre wall, surprisingly easy as it was all rubber and no wire.

Power-hosed and checked for internal sharps, ready to be placed in situ

Carpet lined and based filled with soft sand to protect liner

Taking a fair few litres to fill, stretching and pulling the liner into shape as we go, trying to get as few a creases as humanly possible

Final position, pond filled and liner trimmed

Decking trim added and back-filled with potting compost

Lets build a few rocks for the perimeter...sand and cement...(30 in all) turned out pretty well as it happens a mottled granite effect...then they were sealed
