Can anyone identify this flower? Is it a flax? My plant ID app is pretty worthless and keeps saying it’s a carnation.

It certainly is not flax - it belongs to the dianthus/carnation family as Owdboggy says. Not a bad app after all :)

I honestly didn’t even see the ruffled edges till I looked at the picture again this morning :D
