Peach tree blooming in October?!

im thinking it’s confused. I planted a peach tree for my mom in South Carolina in June and she texts me today saying it’s blooming. It’s lost all its leaves. This isn’t normal right?

Since it is a first year planting it may be confused. But there are many, many varieties of peach. It has to do with chill hours, which can vary wildly for example. Which kind of peach is it?

New trees will sometimes do this. It will straighten out its thinking next year. Just remember to water it once in a while this winter.
