Reminds me of my agave plant. It was a prolific runner. I'd be doing some gardening up to five feet away from it and find it had put a runner out there, only found because it poked me in the finger. Even as tender as they were they could give you a good prick in the finger. Of course gifting them out to friends who wanted a large spiky plant was a good way to keep them under control. They would just come dig them up for me.

edit: it ended up being about 4 feet tall.

Oooh, just think, @zigs!! If you had one of those, you could try your hand at making tequila!! :giggle:
It wasn't a blue agave (the ones for tequila) but I did have a small one of those in a container. It would have been a while still before that one did much. It was a baby when I got it. Of course the other one was too but I got it 16 years earlier.

Looks like 'Owcho' is a good specimen of the incredibly variable Parodia werdermanniana ; a naturally clump forming species.
You were very cruel to remove the 'babies' in such a forceful manner !!!!!
Only joking !

Wotcha Paul :)

Aah, I had her down as a Notocactus tabularis but I just had a look at the werdermanniana and she certainly looks the part.

She was glad to get shot of them :giggle:

I think maybe a mix-up on my part ; Notocactus is now included in Parodia .
Looks like you're correct with Parodia (Notocactus) tabularis .
