The injury is the result of mesophyll cells in the leaves collapsing from exposure to stress. Have the temps dropped in the grow area?Damage can occur after two hours at 45° F (8° C).

It's an injury? No wonder I couldn't find any examples under pests. The orchid is in the bathroom which is normally the warmest and dampest room in the house. I thought it would like it. It's been there a while and is reflowering. However I have been away 14 days and left the heating low but continual, to prevent freezing pipes. It wouldn't have been as low as 8 more like 12 but not what it's used to. I think it badly needs repotting too. Thanks for your really quick reply. Most helpful.
