New to the forum, and pretty new to gardening

Hi everyone. I've just retired and moved from the UK to Cyprus, where I was born, before moving to the UK when I was 3.

I've always had an interest in vegetable growing, but, with a small garden back home, and a wife obsessed with flowers, I never had the opportunity. Now, on my own and with an acre of land, I'm looking to be self-sufficient on the vegetable front.

My gardening experience amounts to successfully growing sweet peas but disasters with tomatoes and strawberries,
so I'll be asking lots of questions, hopefully not all of them stupid.

Welcome! With an acre you should be able to grow everything you need but canning and storing things for winter is going to be another thing.

That's a long way off lol. I'm going to concentrate on the area in front of the house, growing what's in season.

Don't try and do everything at once, much more encouraging to do a bit successfully that lots that only sort of works.

I agree whole heartedly. I should have mentioned that in my post LOL. I went too big and now am backing off.
