Where do I begin? Is this salvagable?

Thanks.
Your lawn, besides having a few seasonal non-turf grasses is or was at the beginning, a variety of St. Augustine. Then Bermuda Grass took over because the SA was not maintained properly. Maintained properly the SA will overcome the Bermuda but it is not easy or cheap but now is not the right time of year to begin. About the 1st of March begin by fertilizing with a good organic fertilizer like Medina GrowNGreen. Then apply 1/4-1/2 inch of well composted compost. Mow at the largest height on your mower. Fertilize again 3 months later. Don't be surprised if the Bermuda doesn't rapidly go away, but the mixture of the two grasses looks great as long as it is watered during the heat of summer

Maybe it's the perfect time to ditch the lawn and add native plants :)
